Bio
The Basics:
I'm a music major and I absolutely love it. Someday I'll be a high school choir director. Yes, sometimes I question my own sanity.
I live in the Pacific Northwest where the weather is bipolar, sun breaks are celebrated, rain is abundant, we go to the coast instead of the beach, and the world is green all year round.
I live for music. I am addicted to books. I enjoy writing. I am a touch artsy-fartsy but not excessively. I dabble in much but commit to little. Music is the one art form that truly speaks to me. I am a vocalist, a horn player, and I am learning piano. I hope someday to add guitar to that list.
I'm girly, though again, not excessively. I like to wear makeup but will sacrifice it to sleep in an extra ten minutes. I like to dress up but only when I've got an occasion.
I choose not to have a label. I call my homosexuality my "lesbian tendencies" when a description is necessary. I say this because bisexuality certainly doesn't fit. I've only had three male crushes in my lifetime. Lesbian doesn't fit because I have had those crushes and they were genuine. I have come to the conclusion that I am capable of attraction to men but cannot be happy in a relationship with one. Hopefully I'll never have to explore that any further.
I'm completely and totally in love with my girlfriend. She is the best part of my life. She is kind and genuine. She is beautiful [I've got quite a thing for redheads] and strong. She sees something in me that no one else ever has. She loves me as completely and genuinely as I love her. She has my heart.
I'm very open minded. I have my views and I believe in them strongly. One of them happens to be that tolerance means accepting that there are views other than your own and accepting that people have the right to those views. Whether you agree or not. So to keep myself from becoming a hypocrite, I accept all views other than my own. I don't necessarily agree and I may voice my opinion on that matter. But I will never try to force someone to change their minds. I don't want your opinion shoved down my throat so I am certainly not going to shove mine down yours. Even if I'm right. ;)
I consider myself to be spiritual rather than religious. My basic beliefs lie in the Christian fundamentals that I was taught growing up. However, I believe that God loves more than he cares about anything else and that is what he wants us to do. I also accept the fact that we have no way of knowing for sure that any religion is based in any reality and that there's a good chance that there is nothing after this life. I choose to believe there is a God. I realize that my beliefs have no affect over reality and if there is no God, believing in one won't make one any more real.

My Purpose:
I'm here to share my thoughts and hopefully open some eyes, give some perspective, and change a few minds along the way. I appreciate all feedback. All views and perspectives are welcome and encouraged- as long as they are given in a respectful manner. No bashing, hate, or rudeness will be tolerated. If all else fails, agree to disagree.

Random Facts That May or May Not Be Interesting:
I like to eat peanut butter and jelly straight from the jars.
I had my first hair cut/style when I was 13.
I have seven piercings: six in my ears and my navel once.
I will eventually have a tattoo. When I have the time and money.
Riding in the car puts me to sleep.
I thoroughly enjoy raspberry tea with honey.
I can only read one book at a time. Thus my stack of books to read is always high.
I am named after three of my grandmothers.
I'm pale and I love it.
I eat bananas in my cheerios.
I have gone a year and three months without dying my hair after dying it continuously for over seven years and being quite addicted.
I sleep with the scarf my girlfriend made me and the teddy bear she gave me.
I like syrup on most of my breakfast food. Including hashbrowns, bacon, and sausage.
I find accents extremely attractive. I realize each and every one of you also says this. But does a midwestern accent turn you on? I didn't think so. ;)
I have seen The Sound of Music over 400 times.
I can't watch scary movies.
I hate driving.
I keep a personal journal, a journal of love letters to my girlfriend, and this blog.
I've known my bestie since second grade. There was a time when he was my only friend. I literally owe my life to him.
I have psoriasis all over my scalp, behind and inside my ears, and in random patches in random places on my body. People often think I've got dandruff but it's really my psoriasis flaking off. Gross, I know.
I'm addicted to Burt's Bees, reading, music, and my girlfriend.
I'm quite introvered about most things. Sex not being one of them.
I missed my calling as a sexologist. I find the subject extraordinarily fascinating.
I've got undiagnosed insomnia.
I miss my great grandparents and wish I could spend just one more day with them.
Photos are how I relive memories. Without them I forget much of the past. I love taking them. I love being in them. I just love them.
I'm a severe packrat.
I believe in Karma, God, and ghosts.
I hate solos.
I was in colorguard in high school and I miss it terribly.
My biggest fears are failure and unnatural death.
Above all else, I believe in peace, love, and music.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you'll stop and take the time to look around and give some feedback. It's always appreciated.
